My name is Barrie James and I live in Cardiff with my wife Sam and our 4 dogs. I work as a full time agility trainer and am based in South Wales, however I travel throughout the UK and overseas to train, compete and judge.
I have been training, competing and judging in agility for over 27 years and have been lucky enough to have had success at Crufts, Olympia and the World Agility Open.
I have previously managed Team Wales for 3 years at the WAO and each year we medalled, in addition I have also coached numerous Team GB members for European Open and Agility World Championships (FCI). As an agility enthusiast (AKA Barrie Britainia), I take an active part in supporting GB Agility and am proud to attend major world class events and celebrate success.
Over the years I have judged many qualifiers (including Crufts Team, Singles and Juniors; Olympia Novice, ABC, Small & Senior) and finals for UKA, UKI and the Kennel Club. I have also judged the Jersey European Agility Festival, Open Junior Agility Championships, Channel Island Dog of the Year, UKA Grand Finals, The US Open and earlier this year I had the privilege of judging the World Agility Open in The Netherlands.
Having competed last year at The CSJ Open I am delighted to accept this appointment and to be part of another great successful event.
