First time I heard about agility, was in 1994, when my first dog, border collie Tomppa was a puppy. After that my favourite hobby has been agility. Now in my family are six border collies between two and eleven years.
I have been competing on the highest level in Finland all the years. In 2014 I was in Finnish EO team with my border collie Siisti in Hungary. I have also competed in Slovakia, Estonia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
As an agility judge I graduated in 2008. Beside Finland, I have been judging in several European countries, f.ex Jutlandia & Fionia Cups (DK), tryouts (FIN, I, PL, A), Finnish Indoor Championships, Finnish Championships.
For me the fascination for agility is the cooperation and connection with the dog and the handler. As a judge, I try to make speedy courses with good lines for the dog and challenge the handlers to trust their dogs in doing and skills and so that with the position of the handler and skillset of the dog, it is possible to offset the handler’s physical restrictions.
I am looking forward to the event and wish all the competitors the best of luck, and great experiences with your favourite sport!
